Chrysalis

Photographed on a brilliant deep-winter day, a thick rime encrusts this twig and it will take some time until spring melts this chrysalis.  The cold Canadian winter is fortuitously represented in this kaleidoscopic mandala by a white maple leaf at bottom center.
